Dr. Kevin Sanders will be celebrating his birthday by starting his retirement at the end of May. He has provided care to his patients at Urology of Virginia since the day he completed his residency in 1994, the day he signed the one-page contract and ‘sealed it with a hand shake’.
He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Sanders is a member of the American Urological Association, the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association, and the Tidewater Urological Society.
He remembers practicing medicine when the practice was in its youth and records were still on paper. He will be missed by his many patients who he loved serving. He stated, “I felt like a rockstar on my farewell tour the past year saying goodbye to some I have cared for since the 90’s . I told them I’ll see them either at Costco or on the farm”.
He has plans to spend time with his family and at his family farm. He looks forward to more time flying again. Dr. Sanders is an active general aviation pilot; and has landed at all 66 independent airports in Virginia. He is looking forward to spending time on his other hobbies: home, auto repair, tinkering with his model railroads, salt water aquariums, woodworking, orchard raising along with a ‘garden on steroids’.
He will be missed!! Enjoy your retirement, Dr. Sanders!
