Residency: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY
Fellowship: Columbia University Medical Center, NY
After completing medical school at the University of Athens in Greece, Dr. Anastos moved to the United States for postgraduate training. He began with translational and clinical research in the Urology Department at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, followed by a residency at the same institution. He then pursued subspecialty training in endourology—a field of urology focused on kidney stones—at Columbia University Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Anastos is a board-eligible urologist with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is deeply committed to medical education and is passionate about training the next generation of leaders in urology. His clinical and research interests focus on minimally invasive kidney stone treatment.
Dr. Anastos joins us with his wife, Dr. Alicia Philippou, who will be practicing gastroenterology with the Suffolk division of Capital Digestive Care. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, running, and playing tennis.
