Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP)
Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) is an established, well-studied surgery with excellent and durable outcomes for enlarged obstructing prostates causing urinary symptoms in men. Unlike other prostate surgeries that remove some of the obstructing tissue, the advantage of HoLEP is removal of all the obstructing tissue to create a maximally open urinary channel. It is also well suited for men with prostates that are too large for other surgeries or for men in whom the bladder functions poorly or no longer functions at all.
