
Saturday marked a historic milestone for global medicine .
This weekend, Urology of Virginia celebrated its 100th anniversary with a ribbon cutting at their main office in Virginia Beach Mayor Bobby Dyer gave congratulatory remarks and presented a proclamation from the Coty of Virginia Beach . Governor Youngkin sent a letter of congratulatory sentiments. They were honored to be joined by the second generation founders of physician trailblazers and their families along with many honored guests and tenured staff.
After the ribbon-cutting by Dr. Paul Schellhammer and Dr. Joe Fiveash, the group was let to a dedication of an honor
Wall to Dr. Schellhammer and then on to view the newly created history and founders wall. On display were artifacts and instruments from early century provided by Tupper Stevens, MLS and The William P. Didusch Center for Urologic History.
A hall of excellence was toured showcasing current residents and the classes of earlier residents and fellows trained at Eastern Virginia Medical School by Urology of Virginia.
Since its formation in 1922, the practice has gained a worldwide reputation for groundbreaking work with surgeries and developing techniques still used today. https://urologyofva.net
