Urology of Virginia and Chesapeake Regional Medical Center are in the process of enhancing services for women by creating a comprehensive women’s pelvic health program. The goal is to create a Pelvic Health Center of Excellence. This national designation is awarded by the National Association for Continence. To receive accreditation, centers must show evidence of clinical excellence and experience, contemporary technology and a comprehensive program that includes patient education and support, among other benchmarks. Dr. Jennifer Miles-Thomas will lead this charge. She began practicing with Urology of Virginia in March of 2013, and is a board-certified urologist and is also board certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. In addition to partnering with the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center OB/GYNs, she will also team up with Dr. Beth Jaklic, a colon and rectal surgeon who practices with Chesapeake Surgical Specialists.
